Just a Walk in the Park

Eliza, Sadie, and I went for a walk down to our neighborhood park today where Ellie swung on a swing for the first time. She loved it! It was so cute to watch her hair blow in the wind and hear her cute little laugh as she swung back and forth.

The Cowtown Half Marathon 2009

My best friend Emily and I ran our first "official" half marathon yesterday around the downtown Fort Worth area. I have only been seriously running for about two months and am thrilled at the 13.1 miles of accomplishment. I finished with a chip time of about 2:18 which beat my personal goal of 2:30. I was so glad to be greeted at the finish line by Rich, Ellie, my sis Suzanne, Patti and Tara (Em's mom and sis). It was faster than I have ever run, and I had quite the calf cramp later, but I am so glad I did it! Can't wait for the next one!

No one can stop me now!!!

Ellie took her first steps this week! She's been fighting RSV all week but she was able to muster up enough energy to start walking. We're so proud of our little princess!

Happy 1st Birthday Ellie!!!

I can't believe our baby is 1! The past year has flown by with our little angel becoming a little lady right before our eyes. We had a little party yesterday to celebrate the occasion complete with Ellie's first real experience with sugar...her cute little strawberry heart cake! She is standing now...but not for long periods of time...and she loves to hang on to the furniture and cruise around the family room. In the blink of an eye she could be at the top of the stairs...she loves climbing! Her favorite toys are cell phones (the real ones) and remote controls. She loves Super Why! on PBS Kids and dances every time the theme song comes on. She is constantly smiling and has the most infectious laugh. Eliza is so beautiful and we are so lucky to have her in our lives! She truly is our little princess.

We love you so much!

Standing and Teeth Update

On Christmas Day, Eliza stood independently for the first time. I also wanted to update you on the mouthful of teeth she has now. She has her two front teeth, the two on either side of them, her two bottom teeth, and two back top AND two back bottom molars coming in. She has really been great and only occasionally wakes up in the middle of the night for some Baby Orajel.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Here are some highlights of our Christmas vacation in Houston. We had a Hawaiian themed Christmas thanks to Uncle Loc, Aunt Maria and George who traveled there over Thanksgiving and brought us all back shirts and sarongs. Eliza had so much fun opening all of her presents from family and Santa. It was a great Christmas.

Happy 5th Birthday Sadie!

Our precious Sadie turned 5 years old today! I can't believe so much time has gone by. She was once our sweet little puppy, and now she is quite the grown-up.

We love you Sadie!
