Eliza's First Easter (better late than never!)

We heard that it's a good idea to let babies see themselves in a mirror...yeah, she's definitely going to need a therapist when she gets older. :)

Eliza's blessing

On March 22 we blessed Eliza at our home. Steph's entire family was able to come to Plano & her dad & brother were able to take part in the blessing. We also invited all of our closest friends & extended family to take part in the blessing so we had a very full house! The whole event was supposed to take place between 3:00 & 5:00 PM so we thought it'd be a good idea to start the blessing at 4:00, but all but 2 of our guests showed up by 3:05! Luckily, everyone mingled & we had enough food to keep everyone busy until 4:00 when all of our guests arrived. The Spirit was strong during the blessing, & we would like to thank everyone who attended for the support they show to us & Ellie.

Sibling rivalry

Some friends & family have wondered how Sadie's done w/ the addition of the new baby to our family so we thought we'd show you! The pics below show about the closest Sadie will get to Eliza. She never barks or show aggression toward her, but she doesn't like to get very close. I guess we'll take indifference over hatred any day! :)

I'm getting bigger!

We were excited to learn yesterday that Ellie has grown to 7 pounds, 5 ounces and about 20 inches. We are finally starting to put her in her newborn-sized clothes even though they are still quite big on her. In celebration of all of the snow in Dallas today, we dressed her in the very cute (and very warm) fuzzy pink bear suit that Grandma & Grandpa Wood gave her for Christmas...even though the pants go up around her chest and the sleeves, hood, and just about everything else drowns her. How adorable is this?!?

This past week Eliza celebrated the one month mark! I can't believe how fast time is flying! She is finally getting big enough (though not entirely) to fit into her newborn clothes instead of her preemie outfits, and we thought we'd celebrate by taking a couple of snapshots after church especially because this is the first time that Ellie has worn a dress (thank you Aimee and Marshall)! As you can see, she also loves the blanket that her Auntie Em made!

This post is to thank all of our wonderful friends for the love and support they've given us from before Eliza was born through the first 3 weeks of her life. Steph was admitted into the hospital the Monday before Eliza was born as a precaution due to Eliza's breech position and Steph's early dilation, but I don't think Steph spent more than 3 hours total (not including sleeping time) alone while she was at the hospital. I spent the majority of the time w/ her in her room, but when I had to go home to take care of Sadie or do a little work there was always a friend willing to spend a few hours w/ her while I was gone. We feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends who care so much and are so willing to help when they're needed. We can only hope to repay your kindness in the future.
