Shoes are a Girl's Best Friend

Ellie loves shoes. I like them, but I never considered myself a "shoe person" like my mom, sister, mother-in-law, and every other female I know. If I would let her, Ellie would spend all day in her room taking her shoes out of her drawers (in proper pairs, I might add) and putting them on herself. She has now taken to putting on mommy and daddy's shoes as well.

I would also like to add that Ellie usually wears pants around the house! It is just a strange coincidence that she happens to be running around in just a onesie on all three of these shoe wearing occasions. Gotta love those hamhocks! And I'm throwing in this pic of her in Melinda's adorable hat to show that she is a well-rounded accessorizer (and just cause it's darn cute!)

Ellie's Big Girl Room

Melinda and I have been painting flowers on Ellie's walls for the past three days to get her big girl room all finished. I have to say that I feel a great deal of accomplishment for our artistic endeavor. It was quite a bit of work, but I love the end result. Honestly, the pictures don't really do it justice, but I thought I would give you a photo tour of her new room. Thanks again, Melinda! I never would have gotten it done without you! (She made the little pillowcase in Ellie's crib too! Sew cute! :)

Check out our cute little blob!

Here are the 3D sonogram pics we had taken of our second baby girl a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, they're blurry and mushy, but it's the best we could get. Hopefully the second baby girl Nguyen will be here within the next two months. I'll be 31 weeks on Wednesday. I also attached a belly pic taken the other night. I didn't take any with Ellie, so enjoy this one! :)

Ellie's 18 Month Pics

Yeah, so I know Eliza will actually be 20 months old this Friday, but I am a little scatterbrained and sidetracked these days so I am just now posting her 18 month pictures. Sometimes she's a little TOO cute for her own good (just a mother's biased opinion)...

Let's Go Fly a Kite!

Last night, after a wonderful dinner at the Nixon's home, we went out to Russell Creek Park to fly kites. We had a lot of fun and stayed right up until the rain came (notice the threatening thunderheads in the background). It was Ellie's first time to fly a kite and she really enjoyed it! Thanks for the great idea, Jamie (and for being our impromptu photographer)! And thanks Melinda for a yummy dinner! :)

Just in case you hadn't heard...

...baby #2 is a GIRL! We're very excited that Ellie will have a sister! All is well with the pregnancy. Can't believe I'm already 21 weeks along. She's kicking all the time now, especially when it's time for bed.

Walt Disney World!

At the very end of May, Rich, Ellie, Grandma Nguyen, Aunt Tami, and cousin Margaret went on a whirlwind weekend vacation to Walt Disney World. Here we are at the Magic Kingdom:

We were lucky to be at WDW on one of the four Star Wars Weekends at Disney's Hollywood Studios. I didn't include the MANY pictures Rich took of the parade of characters.

We went to Epcot (very quickly) and got to see a few things, but hopefully will be able to go back when we have more time and actually DO Epcot. We did go to the Princess Storybook Dining where Ellie met Belle, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, and Snow White. She had lots of fun, but was more interested in her lunch than the princesses.

We had a GREAT time, but I will say that I think Disneyland is much more doable with a small child and that WDW would be better when your kids are teenagers and quite independent.
