Catching Up!

So, I know I haven't posted anything since Ellie's birthday. I guess not much has happened since then. So here is a little recap of the rest of January until now.

In February, DFW had a crazy ice WEEK, so the schools were closed and ice and snow remained on the road for four days. Ellie got croup (go figure) and we couldn't take her to the doctor because NO ONE was open...but before she got sick, we had fun playing in the snow. We couldn't build a snowman because it was the kind of snow that was just fluff and wouldn't pack, but we made snow angels and just had some good fun anyway. That night after their bath, the girls played together on the rocking chair in Ellie's room. Sisters are so fun!

Yes, that's still my Christmas wreath up in February...but the scenery screams Christmas!

Our snow angels (it's kind of hard to tell)

We attempted sledding down the hill in our front yard. Epic fail.

Ellie loves the snow!

Weeeeeeeeee!

By Valentine's Day, the the weather had warmed up so we went to the park...but first I went to get Juliette out of her crib and she had stripped out of her sleep sack, pants, and most of her onesie.

Hoodlum.

Ellie had to climb into the crib and be part of the fun.

Dancing together!

Walking hand in hand. (Melt my heart.)

They love the swings.

Two days later, Aunt Nanny came for 10 days to hang out and run The Cowtown Half Marathon with me. We went to the aquarium (surprise, surprise!) and just had a great time.

We did it! (Suz's 1st, my 3rd...she did AWESOME!)

Happy 3rd Birthday, Ellie!

This post is better late than never. Pretend it was posted January 18, 2011.

We had a fun little family birthday for Ellie this year. She woke up, opened her presents, and got special birthday donuts and hot dogs (pigs in a blanket) for breakfast. She wanted to go to Going Bonkers again, so we went and had a blast climbing and sliding around. We went out to dinner and came home and finished our celebration with a gigantic purple birthday
cupcake (thanks, Mel) topped with a big "3" candle. She had a wonderful birthday!

Birthday presents!

It's Cindelella!

Dear Ellie,
I can't believe 3 years have gone by since you were first placed in my arms. I am in awe daily over how smart you are, the things that you know, and what a beautiful little girl you are. You bring such light and happiness to your Daddy and me and make us laugh and smile like we never knew we could. We love you so much and are so grateful for the blessings that you bring to our lives.

Love always,
Mommy and Daddy

Santa Came!

We woke up to find the wonderful presents that Santa had left for the girls in Houston!

We decided to drive back to Plano that day to avoid the heavy traffic back to Dallas that usually follows a holiday and imagine our wonderful surprise when we found that Santa had left stockings and presents for us at our house, too. I think Ellie thinks Santa is pretty cool now.
