Halloween

Now that Ellie is almost 3 and understands Halloween and trick-or-treating a little better, we had a great time doing several fun Halloween activities. We went to Bass Pro Shops where we colored jack-o-lantern masks, trick-or-treated, and had our picture taken with Charlie Brown.

We saw ginormous orb weaver spiders at the aquarium. These things were just hanging out on the walls in a very dark section of the aquarium called the cave without any warning. Very creepy.

We went to our neighborhood's fall festival where Ellie had her face painted again. She loves having her face painted..but was so exhausted afterward that she fell asleep right on the floor.

Our ward hosted it's annual trunk-or-treat on Saturday so we went and ate hot dogs and scored tons of candy!

These are Ellie's friends, Madden (↑) and Mia (↓)

After the trunk-or-treat, we went home and played with our glow sticks and carved our jack-o-lantern. Uncle Mike and Aunt Melinda helped us design a cute girly pumpkin for Ellie and Jules.

Ellie DID NOT like sticking her hand in the pumpkin.

As always, we enjoyed Star Wars pancakes for breakfast on Sunday. Ellie's favorite is Yoda.

And finally, we loved taking the kiddos trick-or-treating on Halloween. Ellie and Julesy went with their friends Madden, Zaria, Alivia, and Ellianne.

Hope you all had a Happy Halloween full of treats and not too many tricks!

Autumn in the Air

It's autumn again deep in the heart of Texas (though you wouldn't know it since it's still like 80+ degrees outside). To beat the heat, we like to frequent the Dallas World Aquarium. We all love to see the fish and turtles and sharks and monkeys so we've been several times already this fall.

Though September has come and gone, I took the girls out early Saturday morning the 18th to Oak Point Park to see the Plano Balloon Festival. We went for a walk around the pond and got to see several balloons (Ellie just loves balloons!)

Here are the girls after church this past Sunday in their new black and red dresses. I love how they are so happy together and love to laugh and giggle and play with each other. Sisters are the best!

And finally, today we visited the pumpkin patch at the Dallas Arboretum. We had so much fun looking at all of the different types of pumpkins, gourds, and flowers. Ellie got her face painted for the first time...and Julesy got her first bee sting (I guess that's what happens when you have a habit of picking up everything you see.)

Happy H
arvest!
